Summer Jazz '27

It's time for SBCC Summer Jazz!

Come and study with our fantastic jazz department staff and get a head start on learning the art of improv, section playing, transcribing and more!

Students will receive instruction in jazz theory, jazz history, small group performance, big band performance, and also meet once per week for instruction with a professional who plays their instrument.

Dates for the 2027 Jazz Seminar are Tuesday, July 6th to Thursday, August 5th. (Monday, July 5th is the Independence Day holiday, so the first week starts on Tuesday). Summer Jazz runs Monday - Thursday 1pm - 3:30pm (except for the first week). If you are going to miss a few weeks due to vacation or band camp during this time, this is fine; we would rather involve as many students as possible for as much time as possible.

All ages and levels are welcome (at least one year of experience on your instrument is preferred).

We have multiple sections for returning students, use the first section if it’s your first time, or the CRMO section if you are doing it as non-credit (more info below).
