SBCC Piano Faculty Returns to Carnegie Hall

Dr. Adea Badivuku, who teaches applied piano in the SBCC Music Department, returned to the stage at Carnegie Hall on July 8 following a first-prize win in the Golden Classical Music Awards International Competition. Badivuku earned the honor as part of a duo with violist and composer Dr. Deniz Caglarcan, a collaboration the two have built over several years of performing together.

A native of Kosovo, Badivuku brings an active international performance career alongside her teaching at SBCC. Her return to one of the world’s most storied concert halls underscores the caliber of artistry within SBCC’s Music Department faculty — and the kind of real-world accomplishment students in the program get to learn from directly.

“Every opportunity to return feels special,” Badivuku said of performing at Carnegie Hall again.
