Winds & Percussion

The SBCC Concert Band is a top-notch ensemble primarily intended for wind and percussion instrumentalists.

Wind instrumentalists will find a number of excellent performing opportunities at Santa Barbara City College. The 80+ piece SBCC Concert Band performs challenging literature from world renowned composers such as Philip Sparke, Johan de Meij, and Otto M. Schwarz– and several of their compositions made their U.S. debut at SBCC. The ever growing SBCC Trombone Choir has a vast library of literature ranging from Bach to the Beatles, and even has their own composer in-residence that provides the ensemble with exclusive arrangements you will not find anywhere else.

Large wind & percussion ensemble. 60-100 members rehearse and perform modern compositions and classics.

The central coast’s finest community orchestra, the SBCC Symphony is a group of 50-80 musicians rehearsing and performing classic orchestral literature, as well as premiering new works.

For small group ensembles (2 to 10 musicians). Past groups include: horn quartet, clarinet quartet, flute ensemble, brass quintet, piano & violin duos, string quartets, and more!

A rotating group of central coast trombone players, this medium to large ensemble has frequent public performances and rehearses every Saturday morning.
