SBCC Jazz at the Dos Pueblos High School Jazz festival!

SBCC’s jazz department will be well represented at the DPHS jazz festival, with the Good Times big band and the New World Jazz combo performing during the day, and the award-winning Lunch Break big band playing with guest artist Steve Moretti. starting at 7:30 pm on March 1st, 2025.

The concert is the final event of the 2025 DPHS Jazz Festival, which annually brings talented jazz bands from schools and colleges all around the central and south coast to DPHS for a day of competition, master classes, and the final concert.  The concert will take place at The Elings Performing Arts Center at DPHS, 7266 Alameda Avenue, Goleta, CA.

The DPHS Jazz Festival Headliner for 2025 is drummer/percussionist/producer Steve Moretti,  a two-time Grammy® Award nominee, Juno nominee and winner of two Telly Awards. Steve has established himself as one of the most sought-after drummers on the international stage and recording studio. In addition to performing with the DP Jazz Band and the SBCC Lunch Break Big Band, he will conduct a master clinic for all participants.

Besides being a terrific educational opportunity for jazz ensembles from the Central and South Coast, the DPHS Jazz Festival is a major fundraiser for the entire Dos Pueblos High School Instrumental Music Program–marching band, concert band, orchestra, and jazz bands.  All proceeds will benefit the instrumental music program.
